Some baby's get something that is called "Thrush". They will get spots or bumps on their tongue and roof of their mouth.. Sometimes they are odd colored. If that is what it is, a Dr. with prescribe a purple liquid form of medication that you will have to rub on the tongue and roof of the mouth.

First, check you baby's temp. if appetitie has changed, restlessness, crankiness.

If you have seen no change, call your Dr. in the morning and take the baby in. No need to panic and get a huge emergency room bill if the baby isn't having any serious signs..

Take you baby in to emergency room if he has high fever, vomiting, unbearable crankiness, not eating.

Good Luck!!

I can tell you right now it's not thrush!! My son has had that a few times and it looks like nothing you've discribed. You really need to get him into see a doctor as soon as possible. That's probably why he was having problems breastfeeding.

Yikes! I have seen thrush before and I have to say it has never looked as you are describing. That baby needs to go to a doctor.

Don't take chances with a newborn. Page your baby's pediatrician right away. Let them know what's going on and let them decide.
