OK yes women sometimes do that too, but not I. I just don't think it's fair to give someone ultimatum about anything so I never did. They at least can do the same.

If I agree, what does that get you? The comiseration of blame is little satisfaction & leads even less to illumination.
To disagree would be disingenuous; selfish, possessive views afflict humans the world over.

The last individual I know personally who had a similar experience to what you describe was a man who was given an ultimatum/deadline by a woman to make a decision about her. His answer was.... less than compliant. To his credit, he does not blame half of humanity for the peculiarities of one or two.
But if he did, it would be like drinking poison and then waiting for someone else to get sick. That son of Adam is smart enough to not hold anger in his heart.

I can neither agree nor disagree with your assertion, since I am not acquainted with most men.
The only person who can definitively make a "men are selfish" or "most men are selfish" is one with a really really sizeable rolodex of menfolk.
Could you perhaps not be making your stance on the "decision issue" clear from the start? Communication is a good thing.
