In fact Salieri was hospitalized finally in the asylum house, after Mozart died. The case still remains a mystery until today.

His wife Constanze Mozart did not left him, but she stayed in his mother´s house in Münich in the autum of 1791. She took care for Mozart´s health condition so much. That film "Amadeus" was a half fiction, not truely based on the biography of the composer.

That is just a myth. One composer, I forget which one, made a play or opera or something saying he did. The famous movie, Amadeus says he did. Salieri's once student, Beethoven did not believe this theory. So it may be unlikely since Beethoven knew him well. Who knows for sure except God!

I watched the movie Amadeus several times. I watched it once in my music class in high school and we had a discussion about it. I don't think Antonio Salieri poisoned him to death. I think Mozart died because he didn't watch his own health. His wife just left him, he's broke, he can't get a job (Salieri tells everyone that Mozart is a "bad" music teacher), he works day and night like crazy, he doesn't eat and he drinks too much. However, some people say that he's not broke because he can't get a job. They say that he had a well paid job in the court including some comissions from abroad. It's just that he can't manage his money well. What makes me really sad is that no one knows the exact location of Mozart's grave until today beacuse he was buried in an unmarked grave. If it's found, maybe a DNA test could be run to find out the cause of death and perhaps build a tomb worthy of a composer like Mozart.

I was always under the impression that he died from advanced syphillis. Quite common at the time, although I suppose the treatment (mercury) of the day could have poisoned him.
