I tried corporate America again, and it was a mistake. A friend offered me a job at a growing company, and it turned out to be chaos. I've been there for 2 months, and there are many there that show obvious irritation with my slow learning. I've decided to quit, but haven't completely decided whether to stay for a couple of more days or what. I've found another job & I need the 4 days off more than I need the 4 days pay.

To not give notice you have to be the "hurt" party (harrassed , belittled, poor working conditions etc). If your friend helped you get the job then give them notice so it doesn't reflect on him, Chances are they may tell you to leave as you wish if you feel they aren't pleased with your learn rate. The standard two week notice is suggested so you can leave on good terms. Generally, people don't know if they may need to return to that employer in the future.

My employer does not re-hire an employee who does not give the standard two week notice.

don't give notice then. it used to be a big deal but public companies today have no loyalty to their employees just to the share holders.

if you need the 4 days off, either go in and quit or call. and don't list that job on your resume, problem solved.

Find out thru your employee handbook if you work in an "at will" state. If so, and you didn't sign any type of employment contract, you can just quit, just as they can just terminate you, without notice or reason.
