When you say "Canada" where do you mean? Canada is larger by far than the US, so lifestyle, job opportunites, housing, transportation all vary greatly. Whether you would be eligible to work in Canada also depends upon your skills and whether there is a shortage of those skills in Canada.

Generally most job vacancies are in Alberta in the oil industry and in all the industries needed to keep the oil industry going - construction, health care, education, etc. While the most job vacancies are in Alberta, it is also the location of the greatest housing shortages.

Transportation in Canada is similar to in the US, but consider that the geographical area is larger and the population of Canada is only about one tenth the population of the US, so costs tend to be higher.

In Canada we have government/taxpayer sponsored health care, so you won't go bankrupt here if you get sick.

It is difficult to know what else to tell you as you haven't indicated your background, etc. Best of luck with your move.

I'm from Winnipeg; the transportation is really excellent. For jobs it's hard to say... Getting an average Joe job is easy to do. Housing is very cheap here, but of course, depends which nieghbourhood you go to. Still, I love Canada. I suggest you visit here and get a feel for yourself.
