No country can ever be safe from terrorist attacks. That is what terrorism is - doing the unexpected, so it is just about impossible to prevent the totally unpredictable and the unexpected. Only what can be anticipated can be prevented. The same can be said for illegal access - those who really want to get into a country illegally will do so because they will always be looking for new ways and routes. With that said, most western countries are relatively safe places to live.

No country is 100% safe, and rember none of the highjackers entered illegally, as of yet we have not had an attack by an illegal alien, and the Oklahoma City Bombing, which preceeded the 911 attack was carried out by US citizens. How can you protect against that?

No, we're not safe. If it is easy for a family of Mexicans to just waltz across our borders, then so can a well financed terrorist group. If it would be up to me, I'd have a wall between the US and Mexico, and the US and Canada, that would make the Great Wall of China pale in comparison.

At least until the government needs to drum up support for another uncalled for war.

nowhere is safe so, no America is not safe. We refuse to deal with border issues in the US so that also makes us very unsafe. Any idiot with an axe to grind can come into the US via Mexico.

the answer is no, as long as a terrorist is willing to die for their beliefs....no one is safe, but on the bright side nothing has happened since 911 so somebody must be doing something right. damn that bush guy

The safest city in America is Buffalo NY.don't know anyone who wants to bomb it-They would be doing us a favor getting rid of some of the old eyesores.
