i had 2 presents , one from each of my daughters. this sounds ok on the face of it but one was from a daughter who has been "detached" from me for some time and now she has come to see me. this has made her present so special cos it marks a new start in father daughter relations. my other daughter is so kind and thoughtfull and has made me very happy with her presence for some years now.
after several years i now have 2 daughters with whom i like to spend time and enjoy their company.
as a single dad this makes me feel very lucky to have 2 such special daughters and whatever their gifts, the gift of their presence and love beats all gifts of a material nature.

Actually it was last night. My ex called me from the lobby of where I am staying and downloaded some important info for me from the hardrive of my old laptop because it broke on to my new one and about an hour after he left I noticed an envelope on the table. It had a very nice gift in it. But I did not think I would see him so I have not had the opportunity to do something in return. Later maybe. I feel bad. Its a new breakup so we are still attentive.

Each gift I received today thrills me, not because of what I have received, but because of the people who gave them to me.

It's never the gift that counts, it's who gave it that matters.

I received a bottle of 'Stiffys Shots - The vodka drink that tastes like Kola Kubes'.

Very alcoholic, very sickly and likely to make you very sick if drank in large quantities!

Wasn't expecting a stiffy for Christmas at all!!
