My family currently has Cingular as our wireless provider, and I'm extremely unhappy with it. I am a text addict, and Verizon has better plans for that. I'm trying to convince my dad to switch, because I feel like it would save him money, especially since all of my friends have Verizon. I was wondering if it's worth the switch.

thanks.

My plan is not up for another year, and the early cancellation fee is $175 (i looked it up). I'm going to offer to pay the cancellation fee, and for the phone. My dad pays monthly (since I don't have a job to afford that).

With everything I wanted, we're looking $60/month. Which is considerably better than what we currently spend (for my phone only). With my overages from texting (which is frequently), my bill gets up to $200.

Yes they do. I have verizon. As long as you are calling a person with a verizon network phone then you are not being charged.

I had cingular then switched to Verizon because: 1. everyone i know had Verizon 2. i text a lot, and Verizon has better plans for unlimited text where (at the time) cingular charged me $10 a month for 1000texts, incoming and outcoming so i'd always go over. 3. Verizon has better phone selections 4. When you get rebates from Verizon, you get an actual check paid to you. Rebates from Cingular are in a Rebate/Credit Card. IMO they're a pain. 5. Verizon reps are nicer than Cingular. 6. I had 10,000+ rollover minutes and they went to waste at the end of the year. So far with Verizon, I've never gotten a dropped call or a failed call saying I had no reception.

I like Cingular, I think it's better. I have one and I love it. I don't like Verizon because in Puerto Rico, for me, doesn't work well.

Verizon.

They truly do want to give you the best experience. If you have any issues, call their customer service, and escalate if necessary.
