Yeap, I'm a Christmas baby. Actually, mine was yesterday, the 24th., but close enough to know it still sucks.
Tell us why it sucks having your B-Day next to ANY holiday. I'm I alone in feeling this way.
Nobody wished me a Happy Birthday till some of my sisters Christian friends decided to break out a birthday cake for Jesus today, then someone said 'Maybe we can fit Gloo's name down there at the bottom of it'...That and the whole "This gift is for X-Mas AND your birthday" crapola.
Best story gets the 10 points..

I tried the whole put your b-day on a different day. So I choose Jan. 19. It's the farthest day from Christmas while still being a Capricorn. And I had a good 4-5 year run with it,and then my little brother was born. When? Jan 19. Thats right, steal my thunder again.

Well I ain't gonna be getting 10 points but Yahoo owes me 2 just for writing this.
My birthday isn't as close to Christmas as yours Gloo it's actually in February but that's just as bad. February 11. That means that starting on February 12 thru December 24 there are no days that are really mine you know? I mean I know Christmas is for everyone but it's feels a lot like we do Christmas and then we get my birthday out of the way 6 weeks later and all of my presents just feel like runoffs of Christmas stuff they didn't wanna give me and none of the presents are really any good. Seems like they don't put any thought into it that nobody really cares and when people stop caring I stop caring.
Ok this was more of a bitchy rant than anything and I'm sorry but every year I wish that my birthday was in July. Right in the middle when people would have to take some time and really think about what they were gonna get me. None of this "we're going Christmas shopping and we'll put this aside for another month for him".
Oh well it's not 10 points but at least its 2.
Happy Birthday.

1) I have a friend with Two sons born on the 24th and 25th. Being anywhere near her in December, or even on her mailing list of friends, is a trip, because then she absolutely explodes with joy. Everything in sight gets decorated and loved up and she'll tell you frankly that she especially treasures Christmas because of her boys (loves Jesus, too - thanks him for her boys). Each son has one family event dedicated to them alone, but they do go around grinning all season because it's no secret that All the lavish hoopla generated by their sparkly mother is about them.
2) My younger sister was born in December. I'm a musician and that is my hectic season. For years we've have had this joke that she says she enjoys: I celebrate her birthday in June. Whenever I'm ready. That way I can "surprise" her, but she can still anticipate it.
3) I personally have reached an age where if you mention my birthday you'll be taking it off the ceiling. When that time comes for you, and looking young and cool and ageless is more valuable to you than presents, you can enjoy all this priceless celebration of Somebody else's birthday and laugh up your sleeve at all the rest of us chumps!
4) This isn't even His birthday! If He died in the spring, at age 33 1/2, he must have been born in the fall, right? Maybe September.
5) I was born at the beginning of January. By then, people are truly partied out. Yeah, it hurts when everybody else has a birthday except you, and Nobody Ever Notices! Today I finally realized that that's why God was "born in a manger," to a mother who couldn't get any respect in her own home town, at a family reunion, no less! He understands. I'm praying that somehow today, in your heart you'll hear some singing angels. Hmmm... if it's really good, let's have Christmas all year!
(This is the longest answer I have ever written. Sorry for the boring parts! Just want you to know I'm Paying Attention. And in June... what's your e-mail?)

My birthday is in May, but my wife's birthday is the 10 of Dec. and growing up alot of her family gave her birthday/Christmas presents just to save a buck. I have never in the years we have been together given her 1 gift as both her birthday and Christmas present. I have always given her seperate gifts. Because I know that they are 2 seperate events, and they should be kept seperate. I am sorry that you have to go through that, and I can feel for you. I think that it's wrong that they can't give you seperate birthday and Christmas gifts.
Hope that things get better in the future. Again, I'm sorry that you have to go through this.

I know Just what you're going through. My birthday is the 10th of December. My mom tried to pull a birthday/Christmas gift on me one time and let me tell you I made Such a ruckus- I was 8- she never tried it again. Might I suggest you celebrate your bithday in a different month? Like say November.. just so you can have your "own" special day and no one can say "oops about forgetting your birthday. Hope you can do something like that. Happy Birthday and God Bless

My oldest Daughter is born on Christmas day. Since it is her day, we still give her a few birthday presents. But we also celebrate her birthday on June 25 and call it her Unbirthday (Alice in Wonderland). In the long run I say she gets by with even more presents in the long run, cause people still tend to buy her presents on Xmas as well as when they come to the Unbirhtday party..

i know it sucks. My dad birthday is on the 23rd of Dec. My brother and I always give my dad his favorite dark chocolate by Lindt on his birthday/and cake. On Christmas he gets big gifts. But when my dad grew up in early 1940's (he was born in 1935), he always get one or two gifts for both christmas and his birthday, he gets to choose one gift from under the tree when he grew up in early 1940's and open the rest on christmas day which usually covers oranges and apples.

because your birthday is supposed to be all about you... and if u have to share it with a holiday then that holiday is taking your celebration from you. so then its not all about you anymore...and if its on christmas then they always give u a gift for christmas and your birthday put together... and it sucks
