The American ensign is not a fad or fashion statement, after the attacks of Sept 11th, there was not a house or car without a flag waving from it. We all stood united, shocked at the horrific attack, just as the attack of Dec 7th at Pearl Harbor. Now all I see on this yahoo question/answers sight is questions regarding whether we should even be at war, and the flags have all come down. Patriosm is deep within a persons heart, when the national anthem or a boy scout brings a small tear to your eye. It is not something you easily let pass or forget.

Amen brother!!!!!

to answer your question, YES, America has forgot!

It is a shame, but patriotism is a thing of the past across most of America. The kids in the last 15 to 20 have not been taught ANY respect for ANYTHING. Let alone to respect what countless numbers of GREAT young men and woman have died for, THIS THE FINEST COUNTRY IN THE WORLD.
True nuff, it has its problems, but there is nowhere I would rather be.
And the truth is, neither would Any of these cry baby S.O.B.'s that bad mouth the war and President.
They can say because they are IN this GREAT country. Less they forget there are still countries around the world that they would be beheaded in for saying such crap.

GOD BLESS THE U.S.A. AND ALL THOSE WHO SERVE HER!!

People in general are both fickle and easily persuaded. But eventually, the wool has to be pulled away from over their eyes. That's what happened. Bush used 9/11 to get people's support and it's just not working anymore.

After 9/11 we were showing our support for the city of New York, and persuing the Taliban. What does that have to do with what we're doing now? Should I wave my flag to show support for Halliburton's gigantic profits? Profits, I might add, that come from overbilling and the fleecing of myself and my fellow citizens, not to mention the brutal deaths of both American soldiers and Iraqi citizens?

Go ahead and wave a flag for that, if you want. I guess that's easier than doing a little research, eh?

The flags have come down because people are waking up and realizing there's something fishy going on within our government. The mistake we're still making is blaming each other (Republicans v.s. Democrats) instead of working together to fight the the real enemy that has managed to divide us and make us hate each other.

I agree with you 100%, all of those who cry about the war in iraq would be the first to beg you to go and fight, if their family members had been killed in the attacks. Strangely enough, all of our troops that are in iraq and doing the fighting AND dying, are proud to do so and support their country and president, both. I'm a proud army wife, by the way. All the folks that think it sucks so bad here..... you have the freedom to LEAVE!!!
To all you peace lovers, how about I punch you in the mouth a few times and wait to see what you will do...since obviously you CAN'T hit me back.....have a great day.

No, I don't think patriotism is something that Americans forget. Our military continues to fight a hard fight, and many soldiers die every day. No matter how many days pass, they will not be forgotten.

I lay down at night and feel safer knowing that these soldier's are watching over us, and keeping us safe. God bless them.
