NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!! tHESE OTHER ANSWERS ARE so wrong!!! Everyone's cycle is different. There is a myth that woman ovulate 14 days after their period begins...but that is only an AVERAGE and each month can be different. The other thing is that sperm can live inside you for up to 5 days.... so if you are having a shortened cycle one month and you have sex right after your period and you ovulate earlier than day 14 than yes, there is a chance of getting pregnant. However, it will not be during your period. Many people think it’s possible because they do not completely understand how conception works. It might not happen right at the moment of intercourse since the sperm can live for days! If your cycle is short and you ovulate earlier than day 14 it can SEEM like conception takes place during your period...They only way to know is to know exactly when you ovulate. There are several ways to know and some are more effective than others. Some can only predict before ovulation happens and some can only predict that is has already happened. The absolute best info I can give you is to go read a book called Taking Charge of your fertility by Toni Weschler. It will help you understand your body and all the myths about it. It will help you time when you are ovulating and the best times to conceive – or not! . It's about knowing your body and knowing when you are fertile or not. You can pick and choose what you do with your info. Good luck and don't listen the all the myths! Even if you don't get into charting and everything....it will help you in so many ways!

No, you cannot get pregnant when you are on your period. There is a cycle that a woman's body goes through, and half way between two periods(on thee 14th day for a woman with a 28 day cycle) is a time when you ovulate. During this time, you have a window of 24 to 72 hours when you can get PG. A sperm only lives for a maximum of 3 days out side a man's body. The vaginal lining is to acidic for it to survive for longer.
Also: you can sometimes have your first, or even up to your third, period while you are expecting. For my sister, she had missed only one period, but when she went to the doctor, she was two and a half months along already.

you can get pregnant anytime you have unprotected sex. whether or not ur on your period, even if he pulls out. there is still a chance that while you're on you period that the egg that your body was ready to fertilize will meet up with a sperm before it is expelled by your body. and sometimes there is a small amount of sperm in precum. all it takes is one good little swimmer. if you're on the pill however, your body is not supposed to release an egg during ovulation. but that's not exactly fool proof. that's why they leave that .01% for error on the package. happy coitus.

Yes, if you are ovulating during your period. Four days late, that happens sometimes because of stress or medications (or 100 other reasons), but you can get pregnant anytime you have sex, with protection or not.

You can get pregnant anytime and a woman is generally more fertile just after having a baby than at any other time. That is why some women have kids that are about 9 months apart.

I agree with the lady that said no you can't. I've never heard of soemone getting pregnant while on their period because sperm would have to live for two weeks since you don't ovulate until 2 weeks after your period.

Yes. Although in the "normal" cycle ovulation occurs at the midpoint between your periods, this can vary.
