Get the God of War as soon as possible. After that, try to get all your gods in play to draw as many cards as you can. Abuse your enemies with the cards. Repeat. Worked well for me, but then again, I was playing against very weak players.

I own Risk Godstorm and have have played it perhaps 5 times. The learning curve was a bit higher than other versions of risk, like say Risk:2210 or Lord of the Rings Risk. On the main board the Deities don't really make or break the battles. Outnumbering your opponent in any fight nets you results you'd expect in regular Risk. I did find it loads of fun to lose many of my men, only to have them overrun the Underworld. Nothing so satisfying as elephants in Valhalla.
