I'm red 'down there.' Beyond that, I have no other issues. Is this an infection? If so, is there something I could do to get rid of it without a doctor's help? I'm currently taking extra care to keep dry, but is there any thing else I'm able to do?

If you shave your pubes, it is likely that you get this redness, more so if the razor is old or not cleaned properly. It could also indicate a yeast or fungus infection. Wash your pubic area with ordinary soap and water thoroughly twice a day and dry the area with a clean cotton towel every time. Wear cotton underwear, avoid shaving pubic hair for a few days and dont wear any underwear when you go to sleep. If this doesnt give relief, better see a doctor.

Well...it sounds like you might have an infection. If you really don't want to go to the doctor, go to the drug store and purchase a Yeast Infection Treatment kit. There are quite a few different brands. I would try the 7 day treatment, since it is more prolonged and it is less likely your infection will reoccur.
