I don't need a poll to know America is the best country in the world and we are doing the right thing.

My opinion as an American...

America is only a threat to the peace of those nations that are not interested in peace at all. (N Korea, Iran etc.)

We have no interest in waging war against anyone that is not a threat in their own right. For example. The leader of Iran constanly makes statements of "wiping Isreal off of the map". Why allow a mad man the tools to make good on such threats? These rouge nations are not only threats to America but every civilized nation such as the UK. Ignoring tyrants will not make them go away, Hitler proved that theory with the help of Chamberlain. Rouge nations must be dealt with by extreme measures as that is the only thing that they truly understand.

The UN is a joke and can never accomplish anything good. Its a great theory but in practice it has proven to fail by corupt spineless leadership.

If America went away tomorrow, does anyone really think that N Korea and Iran would wake up and decide to be the peace makers of the world? The threat that they pose would only grow. In all honesty, the only deterent that those nations have is the response that America and the UK would slap them with.

Merry Christmas

Well...that's a very complicated question. I don't nessessarily believe that our country (USA) would be the greater threat to World Peace alone, although, if things don't change for the better I believe they could have a major part in it. I feel that N.Korea along with Iran would be the main factors here. And I also believe that Chavez and Cuba could also be influenced as well. We have a very sticky situation here and negotiations are not being met as well as they could be and I think our President is behind alot of these neg. results.I'm not one that voted for him so you know that I'm not impressed with how things are being dealt with.I'm hoping and praying that our beloved country won't be the greater threat to world peace because America has done alot of good things for other nations and countries in the past.

One would hopefully conclude with only the slightest effort in rational thought, through brief analysis, that of the three below facts, not opinions, mentioned, that :

1 In a globally geographical area where PAST violence has continually erupted for generations, well before the U.S. even existed, it may not be good sensible plan to have the proliferation of nuclear weapons taking place. (Even sensible law-makers, and keepers, in the U.S. would agree that some weapons are best kept, and should be allowed only in the hands of people keeping the order and peace, for our community's protection, and this is only an example within the "microcosm" of our National community)

2. Some peoples intentions, at PRESENT, made public through speech (and also, not including secret intentions and actions based on the same rhetoric of hatred), would probably use these weapons.

******As nuclear weapons tend to make this "global community" a now smaller cosm, a very real threat to us all, being as neighbors with such capabilities (You are aware that North Korea has missile capabilities enabling them to strike Seattle), and so, the past and present aforementioned facts, not opinions, allows me to feel very safe in not even being allowed to be labeled as presumptuous by this post, as I am unable to give you an "opinion" in regards to your question, only fact.

3. The FUTURE is easy to draw more than just opinion on if you take the time to be knowledgeable on such topics.

I think that you should take into consideration who was asking the questions and in what context. Polls are generally slanted by the questions that are asked and in what format. NO, I don 't believe the US is as dangerous as Iran. Yes we have the capability but not the lack of self control of other countries. We have allot more domestic stability than Iran. There are not different factions of any one religion killing people here on a daily basis.

Yes. I agree and I am an american. This country is no longer the greatest on Earth. Bush ruined that. As long as we have administrations in this country that take what they want through war (oil in Iraq), we will continue to be the greatest threat. But this administration has ignored the violence and suffering in Dafur. They would rather put the money into preaching abstinence.
I am ashamed to say that I am an american. I want to move to Europe to live. If I had the money and means, I would.

I agree that the U.S. is a great threat to world peace (and I'm USAian.) I'm not sure I'd say we're a greater threat than Iran, however. Or North Korea. We're bad, but NK is worse.

When a bully is losing a fight (against Iraq) it is natural to look for easier prey rather than surrendering and running away. Any country w. an idiot spokesman masquerading as leader is a threat to everyone because he can be manipulated to do almost anything in the name of patriotism (something you currently have too much off and too many scoundrels hiding behind).
