Hopefully you have a decent plunger. If you think you can flush without flooding the toilet, do so - maybe more than once (let it drain) so it doesn't get too messy.

In plunging, I always thought the push down was the important part, but a plumber friend said it was actually the pull back that did the work. So put it over the discharge hole (make sure there's water in the bowl), push down, then give it a pull back. Repeat as needed. Some clear with just one plunge, others need 20 plunges.

Good luck!

Plungers are not complicated. Put the big end in the toilet, over the hole. Push down vigorously, several times. Wait a few seconds to see if anything happened. If not, repeat. Etc. If/when the water recedes, flush the toilet a couple of times to make sure you've cleared the clog. Good luck!

attempt taking a backyard hose and shove the open end into the hollow interior the bathroom, then stuff rags around the hose to make a a good seal. Then turn on the water complete blast { This demands 2 people } it may push out the blockage, so turn the water on for in basic terms some seconds. If it would not drain close THE WATER OFF. attempt it some circumstances. additionally attempt this in basic terms on the downstairs bathroom! otherwise get rid of the down stairs bathroom and run the snake from there. good luck i wish this could help you.
