It's a parliament of rooks, but a murder of crows. It is also a parliament of owls.
What about 'an exaltation of larks' or an 'unkindness of ravens'?

Murder, and usually most foul. It is called that for the simple reason that the crows always lead the villagers to the body or cadaver. The eyes were usually the first to be eaten by the crows.
Here comes the gruesome bit, the crows waited until the gases built up in the body cavity and pecked until it burst. The crows then took off in alarm, calling loudly.
The villagers all knew the call and knew that one of them had been robbed and killed.

A group of crows is called a murder. Almost as odd as a group of kangaroos (a mob I think?)

MURDER...
"In literary and fanciful usage, the collective noun for a group of crows is a MURDER (emphasis mine). However, in practice most people, and especially scientists, use the more generic term flock."

It's actually a 'parliament of OWLS.'
Everyone who said a 'murder of crows' is right.
These old words are fascinating, aren't they?
