I understand that atheism and leftist do not have to go hand in hand, but they have had a long history together. Just like you use the word stupid, naive and religion together. People could assume that you are saying that people who believe in God are stupid. Stalin and Hitler were not stupid neither was Martin Luther or Christopher Columbus. I am sorry that you feel slighted by us who have been affected by the bigotry of atheism. I will try in the future not to assume that atheists are lefties and forgive all the deaths and imprisonments of Jews, Catholic and Christians in the communist world.

Probably because most of the people here who identify themselves as atheist are left leaning liberals. And in general it is probably true. Just as most Evangelical Christians are likely to be Conservative. Or the South is generally Conservative and the North East is liberal. These aren't set in stone just a factor of bell curve generalities. People within these groups can and do deviate form the norm. I have even heard an Atheist give one of the best arguments against abortion that I've ever heard.

The so called morally correct speaking conservative right is littered with perverts and capitalists seeking pleasure and profit manipulating the poor to serve their perverted needs .

Beats me,must be because the American right claims religion,think that's where that bias comes from.
And another thing,calling other people's religion or even ideology stupid isn't very productive,even if you feel that way.Lot of people are very happy with their religious beliefs and calling them stupid could offend.And I don't see the necessity,you could have asked this Q without the insult.

Because labels are part of politics. The right wing is accused of being ultra religious and war mongers, and the left is accused of being baby killers and anti-religious. Labels are put on whole party's and not individuals, where it should be.

Its bad assumption too because some athiest are realists and know that people will always be inheritly unequal in certian terms that always been that way and always will. Brutual realism is that no person will never make the same amount of money , or own same amount of goods.
