First, make sure that they are fully inserted. This is a very common problem when RAM is installed. They may appear to have been inserted fully, but if the RAM does not appear level with the connector or has not fully clicked in place, you will likely have problems.

Second, in some cases, especially if RAM from different manufacturer's is mixed, or different speed of RAM is mixed, the location of the RAM can make a difference. If you have more than one stick of RAM, try chnaging positions of the RAM.

If you replace the original RAM by itself...does it work without rebooting??

If so, it would definitely appear to be a problem with the RAM. It could possibly be the motherboard's RAM slot...

What I would suggest doing, is if the original RAM works...try one stick of the new RAM in the same slot as the working older RAM...I'm assuming that the new RAM is seating snugly...enter the BIOS and determine that the RAM is recognized correctly. SAVE and EXIT and see if it boots without restarting...

If that works, add the second stick, enter the BIOS to be sure it is recognized again...SAVE and EXIT...see what happens.

I am not sure why you did that, but are you sure you have the sticks seated properly? One of the main reasons for problems is memory or cards not being totally clicked into place.

If your computer is not working properly while you are working on it, it could be a problem with device drivers, hardware or software.
