Like Roswell, if alians did come I don't care, maybe it's better that I don't know. There are many other examples. Maybe it's better that the public doesn't know everything for our own safety. I'm just throwing my thoughts out there. What do you think?

Probably because they have this sick idea that the DESERVE to know the answer to everything like they actually matter in the big scheme of things...

Personally, I could care less...If aliens came or if Haliburton made a ton of money in the middle east....

Actually, maybe I would like to about Haliburton....I need to know if I should be investing! :)

Most people are not fooled any more and if you look at the numbers of citizens who register and vote it will tell you the sad but true story that they no long know who or what to believe if we can get a 90% turn out and the unregistered all vote independent with even 10% from each party doing the same breaking away from the lies they are being told we can take our country back from the ones who would enslave us !

Maybe you are not interested in aliens, another one isn't interested in police violence, third - in illegal monitoring of everyday life of everyone, which step by step is turning into practice, thus being accepted as normal and finally becoming legal. By making the government accountable by giving information such process becomes under control of the public.

Yes, not all of the issues concern us personally, or the way they concern us is not that obvious, but there are people out there, who can use such information properly for your and my good (and safety).

that is a fair question. but in all goodness and more when you do write "goverment" you should include the following titles too "government of the people and for the people". such being the case -- a government for the people does actually what people demand and obviously people have the right and the duty to ask their governments to report back to them. Hope that explains your query. as for aliens -- better live them alone in their own worlds.

There are things we SHOULD know. Do you really know who runs our country? It's not Bush, Dems or Repub. They are just puppets for the ones who have our country in the palm of their hands, control over our Federal Reserve, owns us lock stock and barrel and we are slaves to them. We pay Fed. Income to to THEM, not OUR government. We NEED to know what is being done with the money WE work to earn, that we pay to them. Where do YOU think it goes? Better be asking those questions. Where is the LAW that says we HAVE to pay FED. Income Tax? There isn't one. Did they ask us if WE wanted a NEW WORLD ORDER? NO! Did we have any say into going into iraq? NO. If we would speak up, ask questions, demand proof, demand accounting for money spent we wouldn't be in such sad shape in the USA. WE should be controlling the government NOT the government controlling US. WE are the PEOPLE!! Our votes don't mean a thing. Voting machines are rigged. They can sway those votes just enough to make who they WANT to win.

So you are saying ignorance is bliss, right?

Personally I prefer a fundamentally honest & forthright government.
Sure all governments collect all sorts of information & some information is best kept secret, but why should a government hide such information as the poor equipment given to our troops in Iraq & what kind of information it is now collecting on all citizens. Why are those state secrets?

Our own safety from what? From knowledge, from the Government not having secrets for willingly keeping us uniformed, complacent and apathetic. The Government doesn't tell us ANYTHING that's the real problem.

So you don't care if our government is on the wrong or right side at all? You don't care if our government is killing people for stupid reasons in other countries? And about aliens...you wouldn't want to learn about them and the universe we're living in? I guess you don't like expanding your mind. Does it hurt when you even think?

You must be living in a bubble then.

Because the American Communist League Union, my thoughts on this worthless org., tells everyone that you need to know everything.
Strange isn't it that during WW2 we did not need to know everything but now we do cause we are told that we do.

I think if you request the information, it should be given to you. Other than that, they shouldn't announce on National TV that UFO has landed.

yeah, that is exactly what the germans thought when hitler was attempting to take over their government.
"better for us not to know everything for our own safety, and just go along with what the nazi party says!"
that is the dogma that every fascist government maneuvers under.
"better that you do not know what we do for your own saftey and security."
"better that you accept everything we do for your own security."
"that freedom thing, just a threat to your own security!"

the very things that your government doesn't want to tell you, are the exact things they should!

you question is about like asking...
"why should my spouse tell me he/she is cheating on me, because it might hurt me, therfore; I should not know!"
