I'm 14 and I've had my period for about a year and a half. I've always used pads, but now I'm switching to tampons. This morning, I used super and within a half hour, there was blood in my underwear, but the tampon was probably only 1/4 saturated. What am I doing wrong and how can I avoid leaks because of this?

Also, is it normal to have it feel like it's coming out when it's not? I use Tampax Pearl and followed the directions.

use a very thin pantyliner (i recommend carefree) with a tampon (i recommend tampax pearl) that way you don't feel anything in your underwear but have protection against leaks. This always works for me! Good Luck

I do not think one should use tampons before they have had sex. But tampons suck anyhow. I hate them and only use pads. I would say that you probably inserted it wrong (not deep enough). Or like another answer said, you just did not clean it all up after inserting.
There is always some blood after insertion left behind. You could also wear a panty liner with the tampon. That is what I do when I do use them.

I completely get the place you're coming from - I HATE pads, i think of they are gross and that they make me sense disgusting - tampons are so lots extra sanitary. there is an rather good answer here, yet I additionally desire to declare, that I used tampons all however my teenage years - for some years in the previous I had intercourse for the 1st time, and my hymen grew to become into nonetheless intact, and that i bled. this is pretty no longer likely that using tampons could tear your hymen, as they are very tiny and that they hymen would not thoroughly conceal your hoo-ha, yet somewhat has a hollow it in to allow for menstration, and the tampon is sufficiently small to extra wholesome however this without tearing the hymen...in case you quite have one, because of the fact some females are born without, or they may well be torn for the period of activities, and so on.

It is very possible that you did not get the tampon inserted all the way, or properly. It happens sometimes even if you have been using them for years. That can make you "leak". You could also possibly have missed a spot cleaning up after insertion, and may not have leaked at all.

It's quite normal for the tampon to leak a bit even before it's full. Actually, the tampon gets uncomfortable when it's super full, so you don't really want to wait until then anyway. I use pantiliners to catch those little leaks.

Tampons tend to leak anyway and some women have to use a towel also,i dont see point in this plus tampons can be dangerous because of toxic shock syndrome.

If you have never sex, use kotex. This is what a nurse told the daughter of a lady I work with. If you are able to use tampons, they could need to be inserted deeper and changed more often.

Switch to O.B. I find they are really great. If you insert it properly you should not be able to feel it.
