I have heard in the past that you should keep your resume to one page. I currently have a two page resume because I have a lot of info that I feel is important on it. I have past internships, jobs, community involvement and honors. I feel that it is important to have all of this because I am about to graduate with my Master's degree in May, but I have no previous work experience that is relevant to my major so I need supplemental material to show how valuable of an employee I could possibly be. So, do you feel that it is a major no no to have a two page resume or do you feel that it is acceptable in certain circumstances?

One page is very highly recommended. HR people like to skim. You might want to get a resume writing guide book for like 10 bucks. You school could very well offer resume help

Also, keep in mind that a lot of employers scan resumes or scan job boards for resumes and only look at the ones with enough hits on some key words they are looking for....

It really depends upon the area of your major. Many advance degree in technical areas have two pages graduating from school. Now our resumes are 4 or more pages after work experience. PLus, will your resume be going to a general HR department or specific to a certain department or individual. If to a specific person they will taek the time to read it. If to an HR department than cut it down. Have two versions.

Many companies will not even LOOK at a second page.. and I know of a few companies that will toss your resume in the trash without looking if it is more than two pages.
