Two pigs can absolutely live together, they will not fight to the death, just ignore whoever said that. Be sure you get another female. Adopt from a shelter to be sure that she's healthy and actually a girl and not pregnant. www.petfinder.com is a great site to find homeless pigs. Do you have a C&C cage? They are a necessity with pigs, they offer the right amount of room to keep them happy and healthy. See this website for instructions www.guineapigcages.com For two females, you can make either a 2x3 or a 2x4. What age is she now? Generally with females, any age will work. If she's young, an older pig would be a good idea. If she's older, any age pig would be ok. But with sows, any age is usually ok. Just try to match up their temperments. A dominant sow would do best with a submissive sow and vice versa. Owning two pigs is not harder to care for, but makes loads of difference in their lives. They are very social animals, so you'll see their personalities blossom with a friend. Two pigs is barely more expensive at all than one. I have 5 pigs, a group of 3 boys and in another cage, a group of 2 girls. They are so attached to eachother, I can't even imagine what they would feel being alone. My two females are inseperable. They both love to come out for cuddles together and love being around eachother. It's a fabulous idea. Good luck!

chances are, they will get along.
Be absolutely sure she is female. They will need a larger cage, if they share a cage.
theres always the chance that they wont get along. I tried adding a 3rd guinea pig..and my original 2 picked on the 3rd. I had to separate them.
I would try to get one of at least the same size. You never know how they will react to another piggy, so have a backup house just in case. If you have to keep them separate cages, keep the cages close...just being in the same area will help them socially. And yes they are happier and healthier with a piggy friend..but some piggys can be very protective of their area...so choose a piggy who does well with other piggys.
GOOD LUCK

Its true! If you are considering buying a larger cage that would be a great idea, because Guinea pig grow ALOT! I really doesn't matter the age unless the present one is old and you are thinking of getting a very young one. I would recommend two females because two males would fight, and if you have one male and one female you would be full of baby Guinea pigs!
Hope I've helped!

ok so first, Guinea pigs do more beneficial with a play mate so i'd recommend determining to purchase 2. 2d: The cage should be roomy so it has room to play, to me that is extremely very such as a large hamster cage. third: nicely that relies upon on you, so that you wnat to reproduce them to have little ones? If not do not purchase male and lady, they're going to initiate to mate in case you positioned them interior the same cage. in case you basically choose it to have a playmate get male male or female female. Fourth: definite you may they could do somewhat cool tricks in case you practice them good, it takes a lot of work. Like a canines. fifth: i'd yet like 4 at a time for them in order to save there tooth shaved down, Sorry i adont understand a precise style or toy, sixth: Do what you'll do no matter if that is chilly, no matter if that is warm definite i'd turn the air on and provides you them chilly water to have and basically save it a comfortible temppiture. no matter if that is chilly you may purchase a heating pad to positioned lower than the cage to save tehm more beneficial warmth supply hotter water than widely used. Sevinth: i'd seem up that one, each and each Guinea pig is diverse so some want clean vegies and end result orhers will like hay and petstore guinea pig nutrition. desire that facilitates you basically somewhat.

I used to have a guinea pig. So I know a lot about them. If they were not living together at a very young age (Like at birth or before they turn 1 month old) they will literaly kill each other. It is a great idea to have more than one guinea pig. Just keep them in seperate cages. Do NOT put them in the same cage under any curcumstances. They are very protective over their territory. I hope this helps.

they will get along no matter what age, you may need a bigger cage if yours doesn't have room for them to play, she might like a male better and you can get him neutered by a vet, all tho the babies are very cute when they have them.
