I spent about $1500 on my kids and hubby and mine didn't even get me anything. He's stingy and a miser and lazy. What can I say ;) I'm just grateful to have healthy, smart, caring children.

Much to the relief of others, we explained to people many years ago that we were no longer going to be exchanging gifts as the expense and commercialisation was getting out of hand. They were all very understanding and glad that we had been so open about it all. We mostly tend to get together for a meal over the holidays and really enjoy ourselves that way....

I would have to agree with you on the ungrateful individuals. For the past 2 years I have bought my grandmother a present and she refuses to open it. This year we MADE her open it.

I know I spent $150 on food, $105 on liquor, and about $500-600 on gifts.

I spent about 300.00 on my 8 yr old daughter...and 40 on my 10 month old son as he could care less and before you know it, i am going to have to spend a lot on him too so might as well take advantage of it while he is still clueless. I spent 100. on my fiancee and 50 each on my extended family which is my dad, sister, her husband, my niece, my nephew, my brother and his longetime girlfriend. thank god, my brother is not having any kids...i get to save a extra 50.00 each xmas. lol

Believe it or not, not a penny. I stopped doing Christmas years ago. I did gain six pence found on the floor of Woolworths while wandering round with the wife looking at all the tat.

Over $700 and most were glad to get what they got,and as usual there are a few who thought they should have gotten more, but it was MY money,so spent how I wanted to do.

You're not supposed to be proud of yourself, but I am, secretly. I spent sixty times 39 cents for Christmas, and that was "it" this year. So, to give you a precise answer to your question this time, I spent exactly $ 23.40 (USA) on Christmas this year. I sent out sixty Christmas cards, period. Merry Christmas!

i spent 30 dollars on my husband and 50 on my mom and thats it! I dont want any presents nor do I want to give any. I rather spend my money on buying what I want, then give gifts because I feel obligated and get nothing or crap back. Next time just buy yourself everything you want and dont give anything to anyone else! I started this method a few years ago and my credit cards have gotten a great brake! I give myself a great vacation to europe every year!

By the time its over, with food, gas, and all the trimming, around 800.00. But this year we are expecting a new baby in the family, so alot was to help furnish his room, and stuff he'll need. Another big difference is that what I bought was appreciated, and I'm very glad of that.

One of my mates spent thousands. I was in the low hundreds. Everyone appeared to appreciate what I bought.
