gota buy a subscription for 5 a motnh to play online.. bummer, not the ps2, ps3, or teh wii need a pay subscrition

I hope you got the premium Xbox 360, what you wanna do is connect the Xbox 360 to ur router or modem, using the ethernet cord(I hope you have DSL or Cable) and once ur in all you have to do is sign up with ur online name and then ur done, no credit card is ever required(unless you want to buy arcade games, micrsoft points(currency in the live) etc. The Xbox 360 comes with gold subscription for one month, happy gaming

You have to set up an xbox live account and pay for it. You will need a credit card. You should be able to complete the set up process right from your 360 console.
You also need the headset - usually they sell the headset and subscriptions in most all video game stores - which is probably your best value since the headset alone is like 30 bucks.
