I was having a debate with my causin who said her heels were 5-6 inches. There was no way I was having that, as a guy, i think you'd barely be able to walk in something so high!

She maintained that they were about 5.5 inches tho. I didn't believe her so she suggested i look on the net for heels that high and to my surprise they sell them. Do all girls wear heels that high and mustn't it hurt like hell? Its like being on tiptoe!

And *why* wear something that high?

She did actually make a comment about her size, being short, but she's not that small. Surely its got to be unhealthy to be on tiptoe all the time?

I wear a size five, and I have a pair of heels in my work bag right now that is SEVEN inches high. I am a dancer. I can spin around in circles in them, run, dance, etc. etc. w/ no problem. I am a lot more used to wearing high heels than most girls though. I don't think they could make a pair of high heels that I couldn't walk in.

Allthough it does bug me how so many girls these days can't walk in heels...they seem to either
1. Stomp their feet really loud and look and sound like a horse when they walk ...or
2. Move their hips in this really weird way back and forth as they try to walk in them. Kind of in a twisting jerking motion almost...

Most girls don't wear heels that high because they do hurt like heck and hard to walk in. Women wear them because it pushes your rear end up, makes your legs look longer and give you an overall more visually being appealling.

I have worn heels as high as 6 inches, but find those should be for just sort term wear and for show...if you want to wear them for any length of time, you need to keep it at 4 inches or short. If you wear very high heels all the time, your muscles adjust to the unnatural state and you can actually have leg spasms and pain when you try to wear shorter heels or tennis shoes during the re-adjusment period.

I'm not a girl but the highest heels I have ever worn were 5 inches. I could hardly work on them and usually stick to a 3 inch heel (cos I'm over 6 ft, 3 inch heels are more than high enough).

Mym mum has size 3 feet and bought some 6 inch heels - but it is physically impossible to walk in them - the gradient is so step as the shoes are very short. Its impossible!!
So, it depends on the length of the shoe. 6 inch heels on size 3 shoes does not work, but isn't that bad onn size 8 shoes :)

I've heard of seven inch heels but that is so totally crazy I would never ever do it...besides it would make me 6'5" tall.

Currently the tallest heel I have is a cute black shoe with a lot of tread and only about 1 1/2 " heel. I like shoes with solid treads and not those wooden things they sell with spike-stick heels. (Ugh!) I've seen someone wear them on the ice (ooh that must've hurt but I haveta say I couldn't help laughing). My shoe size is 8 and I'm 5'10" tall, pretty tall for a sophmore. So I stick with tennis shoes as often as I can, they're so comfy and trendy.

Of course you haven't worn high heels, but I stuck my foot in one and just for that one minute they were the most uncomfortable footwear I've ever worn!

VERY very interesting question. Try some on one day and you tell us chicks. Yes, granted we go through a lot more that you think to grow about 4 inches, but it's just the way we do things! The highest hell, I mean heel, I've ever worn was 4". *shrug* Like I said: Try some on one day. You'll NEVER do it again. *promise*

the highest heel I've ever worn was like 3 inches(prom).. and THAT hurt.. let alone 5.5 inches.. jeez.. course I'm a big tom boy to. I just like stickin with tennis shoes and flipflops.. I'm tall so I dont like heels at all.. and only wear them.. well hardly ever.. so.. the only reason someone would wear heels that large is for height..
