When you try to get our chamelion out he always hisses at you, he will be handled and seems fine other than that.

First of all it doesnt hurt when they bite...they have no teeth for crying out loud. Second of all its a lizard they tend not to like being handled, especially by what looks like a giant to them. Give it time, and it may or may not stop. Its just a scare tactic it uses when feeling threatened.

It's just what they do. Once they get used to you and get used to being handled the hissing will tone down or even stop. I had a chameleon and it took well over a year until he stopped hissing when we took him out of the cage.

It's a natural defense mechanism, they can bite too, and hard if it's a larger chameleon, so be aware of that too..
