Office politics?

What department(s) are typically considered the most/least political?

The closer you are to "power," the more likely it'll be political.

i.e. sales-- you're out of the office all day, no politics its all about production

Accounting-- you've got the boss's money a lot more political. (plus there isn't an easy way to tell who is doing a better job)

Boss's personal assistant-- You'd best have the brownest nose if you want to get by her.
