Maybe it has something to do with the serious lack of guidance from people who are supposed to give a hoot about them. That is their parental units, or guardians.
My opinion is it's more prevalent and today's children are exposed to so much more every where they turn and for some reason, it would seem an awful lot of parents have forgotten the responsibility for raising a child is theirs not the children.
They are kids for goodness sake and do not have enough experience to face the overwhelming obstacles they face without some truly caring guidance.

I guess it all have to do with parents and the environment that the kid is living in.
I understand that kids – especially teenagers- need particular kind of understanding and communication. It’s the family accountability to show them all alternatives and choices in life.
I am a mother of a teenager, and I spend a lot of time talking to my son, and try to observe life from his point of view, not mine.
You can’t as a parent have a relationship with your kids, by acting always like you know everything and either your way or the high way.
As for some kids who live in shelters or with foster parents, there always the counselor or social worker duty, to communicate and offer kind of compromising.
It’s a hard life we are living and many confusion facts that could make us - even as adults- to wonder.

& thank you for your question
