you might need to restore the settings on your ipod. mine did this and that's what i had to do.

Easy solution
The clickwheel has a pushwheel in the middle.
Now hold down on the top of the pushwheel and the top of the clickwheel at the same time for about 5-10 seconds.
That will restore it.Works for many problems.
