Yes, I do smoke - about 6-10 cigs a day. The doc put me on allergy pills but so far not improvement. I am worried about having some kind of cancer, and I know I have to go back to the doc. I just would like to know if anyone else has dealt with that and what could possibly be wrong.

Sinusitis! Very common is smokers and/or allergy suffers. There is a terrific nasal spray called FloNase (available by prescription only). I started using this about a year ago and it really helped clear sinuses and prevent mucus drainage in the throat. Check it out or ask your Dr. about it when you see him next. GOOD LUCK.

It could possibly be an infection, like strep throat.
Seriously, please stop smoking. That'll help your overall health so much.
And see a doctor about your throat.
