Read aloud. 1, 11 (one one in previous), 21 (two one's in previous), 1211 (one two, one one in previous), 111221, so the next line is: 312211.

For those wondering how to solve it:
Credits to K Sengupta:
"Each term in the sequence describes the previous one.
For example, 21 is "two 1" which describes the previous term
i.e. 11.
13112221 is described as "one 1, one 3, two 1, three 2, 1 one" giving 1113213211 as the required missing term."
