I really don't know , but sometimes people feel pressure- pain in the jaw - neck area... Maybe he went for that.. But the same symptoms can apply to heart failure .. Also , Dentists are trained to spot other health issues as well , I've heard this many times.. Could have been something on those lines ..

I was so surprised to hear of his death, also

I'll also be waiting to hear the story ..

Great Question

Another legend gone !

My wife's father went to the dentist and while he was waiting to see the dentist he had a massive heart attack and died instantly. When you die is already mapped. Where you are at the time of death makes no difference. Dentists are trained, and most would know if there were visible signs of serious illness. It could be temperature, skin colour, heartbeat or even the way some one is breathing. The dentist probably noticed the signs of serious infection as you get with pneumonia and recommended he see a doctor. No great Mystery really.

Honestly I've heard of something similar before. I can't remember the exact situation, but it was something to do with a gum infection being an indication of a brain tumour - also dentists screen for mouth and tongue cancer as standard.

Feel sorry for good old Was (Not Was) who wrote that great song "I Feel Better than James Brown" with the wonderful lyric:

I went to the dentist and told him "take out my heart"
I feel better than James Brown
I feel better now
I feel better than James Brown

ooops!

I don't trust dentists either, and this is further proof, that one of the greatest soul artists of all time should be taken from us, it is admirable though, that he kept going until the end, as all real entertainers do, the man is a legend, and will live on in those who remember him for the eternal great that he is.

I thought you were asking a riddle, and the answer was going to be a pun on the title of one of his songs.

I didn't know he went to the dentist before going to the hospital, but I do know that he will be missed in the world of music. He was one of my favorites.

I suppose the reason he went to the dentist would be to have his teeth checked and then somethink is found beyond the dentists capabilitys death happens when you least expect it

The dentist told him he had pneumonia so I guess they can tell a lot about your general health as well

Al the news said that he has pneumonia...he probably was sick for along time. People can have pnuemonia and not even know it.
Some of the symptoms are like a bad cold.

Bad dental hygiene causes a build up of bacteria which when it enters the blood stream, can cause a build up in the arteries thus causing a heart attack. So brush your teeth.

He could have had a very bad oral infection that could have easily spread to his lungs and or heart, especailly if he was already ill from a cold or something. Plus, he was old and statistically, had a less apt immune system.
