I would guess is caused by the word "hate" especially during the season of peace and good will. Personally, I can't be bothered with the time and focus required to truly hate anyone, let alone 1/2 of the worlds population.

Oh, probably because you offended someone who was wearing their feelings on their sleeve! People just report for any reason what so ever. It really gets on my nerves also. Anyway, Merry Christmas!

I think because you use to word "hate". Although you are entitled to your opinion, people are very sensitive and their feelings are hurt.
