im trying to set up a wireless network..

1. plug a pc/laptop in
2. access its config page with the IP in the manual, usually it is:

192.168.0.1
or
192.168.1.1
or something like that...
3. tweak the setting the way you want, following the instructions on the page.


if it asks for a password, try various combinations of "admin" and blank fields.

Go to the manufacturers site and check out their support page, it should give you directions to configure. With Linksys you don't need a disk, just the ip address of the router and a password and login.

you don't need the installation CD. most consumer networking devices are set to use either 192.168.1.0 or 192.168.1.1

try typing one then the other in the address bar of your browser. the password(s) should be either admin or administrator and the password is usually blank or password
