This night, I had a terrible night-mare. I dreamt that my friend Tom was dying, and eventually, he died and I remember seeing him in a coffin. When I woke up, I was all shocked. Now, every time I see (or hear, or think) about my friend, I'm overwhelmed by very intense negative feelings. I feel like I am going to puke, I feel like I am dying.

All dreams are in metaphor, and represent issues that are happening your current life, offering you an insight or solution to a problem. Recurrent dreams reflect an unresolved (unfinished) issue in your life. Notice when you have the dream and see what happened that day BEFORE you had the dream. Your emotional state and your interactions of the day are the keys to meaning(s).
Your chosen symbols have meaning to YOU, not something you can look up in a dream dictionary.

Dreams about death are usually about big changes or transformations, not literal death. Since you've had such a sudden change in feelings about Tom, I wonder if that's where the real death lies -- a death of the old relationship you had.

In any case, speaking about your feelings, even discussing them openly with Tom, will be helpful if you both can be open and honest.

Remember: you are the final authority on the meaning(s) of your dreams.

i think you need to talk to tom about your dream and ask him if there is anything life altering going on in his life. or perhaps ask yourself why you would be so traumatized by his passing. does he know how you really feel about him? if he really did die tomorrow how would you cope?
talk to him and let him know what kinds of feelings you have for him. sometimes just the emotional release can really help the anxiety after a nightmare like that.

Actually we are all going to die. This should be the impetus to realize your actual constitutional position as spirit soul before you actually die. We never know when that time could come but it will. What is our next destination should be the next concern. What ever ones consciousness is at the time of death they are sure to attain in their next life. We are not these bodies,IE; mind, intelligence, senses, race, religion, nationality, etc. We are eternal spirit souls, part and parcel of the Supreme Soul also known as Krishna, Allah, Jehovah, Vishnu etc. If we want to stop the repeated cycle of birth, death, old age, and disease and return to the eternal, blissful, spiritual abode then we have to reconnect with Him. He is situated in the core of your Heart. chanting His Name is the quickest way to get in touch. go to krishnaculture. for complete details. Read Bhagavad Gita As it is by Bhaktivedanta Prabhupada
