Minus the candles, my family and I do this. Yes, as silly as it may sound to some. For it is the reason for the season, the birth of our savior Jesus Christ! Have a blessed Christmas and a joyous New Year! God bless****

nice concept! unfortunately people use the old wise men tale to bring presents to jesus as an excuse for gifts. its what your heart is there for that matters..is it the idea that you get alot of things or rather, the thought that loved ones care? really we should all be focussed on christ and he's most precious gift of all...love that is so unfailing. unfortunately, singing to him with a birthday cake is not part of the christmas holiday... it all has to do with tradition.

Jesus was born in the spring. Christmas as we celebrate it is not about the birth of Jesus it is about buying gifts.

Taking the time to remember Jesus is a great idea though.

Because celebrating Christmas pre dates the birth of Christ.
Christmas = winter solstice.
The beginning of the lengthening of day light = new year = renewal of life.
A reason to celebrate, especially if you have not starved or frozen to death by now.
