i have had my period for a few years (i cant remember the exact amount of years but its over 4) and i still cant tell when it comes. i've tried doing the 28-day count, but sometimes its less, sometimes its more. the only thing i know about my period is that it will come sometime during the first 2 weeks of the month. i would really like to know when i can expect my period so i can be prepared. is this serious enough for birth control or are there any other methods to regulating your period?

You should see a doctor first. All women should see a doctor after they have their first period. It's normal to have a period like yours but you can control it if you take the pill. The pill regulates your period because you take 21 pills and you stop for 1 week. In this week, the period appears (more or less 3 or 4 days after the last pill).Your body can chance a little, but one big advantage is that your periods become painless!

Well, if you know that your period comes in the first two weeks of the month, you have a general idea of when it's coming. Also, many women experience other symptoms before their period, such as diarrhea, cramping, and so on. Do you have any of these symptoms? You can use them to let you know that you're about to start menstruating.

I personally would not recommend birth control for this situation. It's better not to mess with your body's hormones if you don't have to.

Go to you GYNO! Let him/her know about your condition. If you're a teenager it usually takes a while for you to become regular. If you're sexually active you should go see your physician.
