You can use the VGA cable to connect your V920 to any computer that has a VGA port. The V920 will only display
computer images correctly if the VGA port resolution is set to 640x480 with a monitor refresh rate of 60hz.
Connect the VGA cable to the Aux port of the V920 controller. Note this connector is keyed and will only mate in one
direction. You must disconnect the AV cable from the controller while using the VGA cable.
If you are using a desktop PC it is best to change the settings while your monitor is still connected, and then connect
your V920 to the VGA port. You can connect the V920 to a laptop at anytime and use the laptop display to make the
changes to the settings.
The following steps change the VGA settings for a computer running Windows XP™. Other versions of Windows
may appear slightly different, but the same adjustments can be made.
1. Right click your mouse on your Windows desktop, click on Properties
2. Once the new window pops up, click on the Settings tab. You will see a slider that will allow you to change
the screen resolution. Select 640 by 480
3. If the slider does not go to 640 by 480 then:
Click on [Advanced]
Once the new window opens up, click on the Adapter tab.
Click on [List all modes...] This will bring up another window with a variety of display settings.
Scroll to the best 640 by 480, 60 hertz setting. Click on this setting and click [OK]
Then click [Apply] on the open window. Your computer will go black for a second and then
reappear in the new format. The computer will ask if you want to keep this setting, click [Yes]
4. If you used the slider to adjust the resolution then click on [Advanced]
5. Click on the Monitor tab, then select Screen Refresh Rate: 60 Hz. Click on [Apply] then [OK]
6. Click on [OK] to close the Display Properties window.
7. If you are using a laptop you may need to toggle the display to get the video sent out the VGA port to your
V920. The procedure to do this varies by laptop model, but usually involves holding the [FN] key and
pressing one of the function [F] keys at the top of your keyboard. Cycle through these until you see video in
the V920. You should be able to turn the laptop screen off with the V920 on. This will save considerable
computer battery life while using your V920. Some laptop displays may be fuzzy at 640, but the V920 display
should be sharp.
If you are using a desktop PC disconnect your monitor and connect your V920 to the VGA port, then turn
the V920 on. The computer image will now appear on the V920 Video Eyewear.
