Both hurt I am sure but I would think it would hurt worse if it was the opposite sex. B/c then it would seem as though you weren't good enough sexy enough are just didn't love you enough..
If it is the same sex as him, then yes it would hurt but you could look at it as you are his favorite female, your are the one he chose while trying to hide his sexuality. You are probably his best friend. It has to be hard staying in the closet and trying to change how you feel inside. You gave him happiness, you helped him with this so much that he wanted to be with you..Then when he felt he had to be true to his self and follow his feelings yes it hurt you I am sure, but I cant imagine hiding something like that, living life as a different person. So I guess it wouldn't hurt as bad b/c I could see why it happened.

when your spouse cheats on you with an opposite sex person

I feel that cheating is cheating; regardless of who they were with the hurt would be the same. I think that for a heterosexual couple it would be more shocking than more hurtful to discover your partner is doing something you never expected them to be capable of doing. But I dont have experience with this, its just my opinion.

Cheating is likened to the one you truly love taking a hot branding iron and applying it to your heart; I am talking about your emotional heart. It doesn't matter with whom, it never matters with whom.

Doesn't matter.
A toe is a toe. Both hurt like hell, and take alot of strength and courage to over come.

Betrayal is betrayal. Doesn't matter who the other person is, because the one hurting u is the one u care about.
