is it the 360 or original one ! if 360 then no ! they will play ! if its the original then yes you need a dvd pack !

You need to buy a remote, either official or 3rd party, (I'd always recommend official).
The reason it's unplayable for DVD's straight out of the box is because DVD is a licensed format, so anything that plays DVD's as standard needs to charge a licensing fee, this is covered by the cost of the remotes, (so, in the case of PS2, the fee is included within the price of the console).

well you need to get the xbox dvd remote in put it in but do you have the xbox remote or did you just get your xbox
