do you mean the tunnel where there are only whismur in it,to brick the rock you need to get rock smash,rock smash can be get in a house in malvile city,check every house,and you also need the third badge,the lighting badge to brick the rock,after you get the badge teach rocksmash to a pokemon and use the pokemon to brick the rock,after you brick the rock the man will thank you and give you the HM strengh.

You need rock smash. I don't remember where you get rock smash though....What tunnel are you in?
