Don't take it personally. Chances are if he is going through medical treatment, then that is weighing heavily on his mind. Also being Christmas,he is also probably very depressed. If he loves kids, then he will like the card. He did text you at least, so he did make an effort to contact you, so that's a good sign.
Christmas time is a cheerful time, but it can also be very depressing when things aren't going well, so I would definitely say that the combination of his medical treatment at Christmas time has given him a case of the blues. Give him a little time, and if it's still bothering you, ask him when things are going better for him.

maybe he didn't really want the whole world ( in his view ) to know he wasn't well and the short but sweet was his polite way of letting you know this. You could always ask him , don't wait for him to elaborate ... he is after all a guy and may think he has said it all. And remember he may not have even realised that he has inadvertantly hurt your feelings as well. I take it the text from him about it wasn't positive but hey he has wished you a merry xmas ... take it from there , if you are truly worried bite the bullet and ask.

It probably wasn't the gift because that sounds adorable! Just give him some time and let your friendship sink in. Don't make yourself sound desperate. Pretend like you don't have much interest in him anymore and then when he thinks he is going to lose you he will come back! If this doesnt work wait a bit and then make a move!

well i certainly would take it personally and think that he is trying to tell me something. U may not want to hear it but i think u had better listen to what ur first reaction is telling u.
the best way to find out, is to not bother him again and if he doesn't respond to u ignoring him, then u will know ur 1st reaction was right.
There are lots more fish in the ocean honey, don't waste ur time on someone who is not giving u the emotional support u want and need
good luck and happy new year.

I wouldn't be worried, he might just be feeling down in the dumps because he is sick at Christmas. Just try to keep a smile on your face and do other things to keep a smile on your boyfriend's face also!

Maybe he's just enmeshed in his own medicla drama right now and not up to reaching out. Nobody worth keeping would dump you over a bad present.
Yours sounds cool, btw...given with thoughts of him and what he likes.
Just let it ride for now and see what happens.

I don't think it was the gift. I think he just isn't into you anymore. If a man wants to be with you, he will move heaven and earth to be beside you. If he hasn't called, then don't give him another thought- he has lost interest and you deserve love from someone who cares. Men don't get emotional about things-women do, so please try and forget him and move on.

Don't worry about the gift. Since he's sick he's probably not feeling too well.Be happy that he sent you a text message.
