i have an older riding mower the wheel slides on the axle there is a bolt in the end to hold it on i have the bolt out but the wheel is siezed on the axle. it slides on about 4 to 6 inches. it is suppose to just slide off but i think it has been a long time since it has been off i have tried heat with a propane torch and penetrating oil but it will not move

a propane torch wont get hot enough to make a differance. if you can find a large harmonic balance puller at the parts house, use that.

run some long 3/8 bolts thru the 2 holes in the wheel and thru the puller.

push it back as far as you can and sand as much of the shaft as you can,,spray wd40 into the wheel hub hole,,try again,,make sure you have removed the shear pin!! this may be whats holding things up!!!
