davy jones loved a girl who broke his heart (one way or another), thus he carved it out of his chest -- still beating -- and sealed it away to become what he is now -- emotionless (to an extent; he obviously has some feeling of sadness as evidenced when Sparrow is telling him will turner is in love), careless, dark, and evil.
i just realized how sad my life is. :|

davy jones fell in love with a girl...i think she broke his heart or she dies or something...but it hurt his heart so much....loving her...so her cut it out and locked it in that chest
