i have a broadband connection with ntl 250 modem i just bought a psp can i connect to the internet because the psp is asking me for access piont and ssid settings etc

If you want to connect your PSP to the internet then you have to have a wifi connection. This means you need access to a wifi router ($40) or wifi max USB dongle ($40). If you don't have one of those and you are not near a free wifi connection when you do a scan for a connection, then you will not be able to connect to the internet with your PSP.
