Uniform: The way you ask for things is standardized -- protocol, server, directory path, resource: e.g., http:// is the protocol, www.there.com is the server, /path/to/the/ is the directory path, file.html is the resource: http://www.there.com/path /to/the/file.html
Resource: Anything on the Web you want to get: Web pages, pictures, files, MP 3s, whatever.
Locator: The process of getting your file is locating it, based on what protocol you want to use, the server you want to explore, the path to the resource you are after and the name of the resource itself.
