1st person - You tell the story from you're point of view.
Ex. I went to the store with my best friend Becky, and saw horrible Ms. Graves there. I hate Ms. Graves she's had it out for me since Kindergarden.
2nd person - You are telling someone a story.
Then the little rabbit jumped over the fence into the farmers carrot patch.
3rd person - You refer to things in a general non attached point of view.
To write a history report, start with research on a topic. Take good notes.
- Hope that helps, I'm not as good in English as some other subjects, so this answer might not be entirely true.

3ed is easiest. You are God, you can read every ones thoughts at your discretion, but its also challenging because you have to let the readers know when your switching heads..
She moves quietly.
1st is the most personal. You include the thoughts, feelings, actions, etc of one character and see and write the story through their eyes..
I move quietly.
2ed is weird and kinda hard for a novel. You address the readers. You can find an example of this kind of writing on quizilla. But that's the only place I've seen it. I've included an entirely random example in the source box..
You move quietly

To write a story in the 1st person means to use "I", 2nd person means "you" and 3rd person means "they". I think it is best to write a story in the 1st person, it sounds more interesting that way, in my opinion.

1st would be using "I" and "me" to tell a story. I am not sure about second person but it might be where you are talking right to the person. Third person is when the "narator" can look right into the charaters eyes and see what they are thinking. Like looking right into the story from an "all knowing" veiw

1st - I
2nd -you
32d - he/she
3rd person is the commonest form of writing, while 2nd person would be the rarest and most difficult. Maybe it'd pretty interesting to write such a story.

Most of the above answers got it right. First person point of view is just that- first person information. "I went for a walk. I talked to John. I laughed. I cried." Second person point of view is generally when you speak to the audience. In most cases, the "understood you." "You went for a walk. You talk to John. You laugh. You cried." Third person point of view is a distant narrator. By distant, I mean that he/she is narrating the story but not directly involved in the story. "She went for a walk. John and she talked. She cried, he cried." etc...the tense of the verb can be whatever you choose in all three cases. Present tense will add a sense of immediacy (like it's happening right now) to your story. "I walk. John and I talk. I laugh. I cry." Past tense is usually how most fiction is written, simply because it's easier to maintain throughout a novel or short story, "I walked. John and I talked. I laughed. I cried."
Good luck!

1st person tells the story as himself like: " I was fascinated by the rock."
3rd person tells the story as he describes other things he does not mention himself it is as if he is telling the story: '' He was fascinated."
2nd person does not exist.
First person is the best because the reader feels that he is directly talking to you, and you are sharing everything with him about your story, so I think it would be more interesting.

It's mainly the viewpoints. You can tell a story in dialogue, or narrator version, or in a particular person's point of view. So basically it would be, from one person's view ("I walked along the crowded street trying to focus my mind"), from the narrator's view ("His mind was in a haze as he tramped the muddy sidewalk"), or from a party's viewpoint ("We walked down the sidewalk, laughing and jostling each other").

When writing in the first person you are writing of and as yourself.
The second person is the person you are writing to and the third person is someone else. I or we, you, and they or them.
