If you found a wallet with $500 in it and no ID, would you turn it in to your local police station or would you keep it for yourself?

P.S. and if you would do anything else with it may I ask what?

Hmmm good question! I probably would run an ad in the local paper that someone could claim it by description only. If I turned it in to the police i'd doubt they would even care to do that much...being as though there is no ID. If no one claimed it within 30 days I'd donate the money to the American Red Cross and the wallet too.

I'd put an ad in the paper saying that I found a wallet and where I found it. I'd ask that the claimant describe the wallet and what (including how much) was in it. The person who lost the wallet would have to pay for the ad to claim the wallet.

If no legitimate claimant was found, I'd keep the wallet and the money.

If the loser was smart (hah) he would use the press, and the police, in case the finder is generous.
As the finder you should check with the press and police, and after a week or so of no results, give the money to a deserving mission or charity.
Do you think it was a gift? Keep it....if you can live with that. But there are too many needy people out there and giving is a feels-good act.

I would turn it in. I found $300 in Wal-mart once in a bank withdrawl envelope and brought it to a manager. I would want someone to do that if it were mine!!

I would probably turn it in, I would be afraid to keep it, knowing it could be God testing me, of my honesty.
