Earlier this year the night sky looked like a greeting card with a bright star enclosed in a crescent moon. I think this star was also visible in the morning along with the moon this year. Can anyone tell me the name of the star along with any further information about it?

the crescent moon IS empty space. In a program once, I saw bugs bunny hanging off the tip of the crescent when his ship left him behind.

You can't have a star enclosed in the crescent moon, because it would be behind the shadowed part of the moon

Hi. My guess would be Venus except that it would always be outside the crescent, as would any body located further away than the Moon. Venus can be seen in the early evening sometimes and in the early morning sometimes, just as the crescent Moon can.

You must have seen a satellite, an aircraft, or a UFO. You can't see stars through the body of a planet like the moon. The crecent you see is just an edge of the sun's illumination of the far side of the moon. The dark part is NOT empty space!

Antares. It's name means "Against" Mars Aries is another name for the God Mars. The reaon being both the planet and the Star are seen as the color red. Suspendor is correct of course, but this conjunction is so close it appears to be "Between the arms"
