Your ping basically shows the quality of your connection to a server. Your computer sends a message and when the server sends it back, that amount of time it took for the measurement to go there and back is measured. A high ping is usually the result of a slow internet connection or your bandwidth being used by other programs on the computer. This can also happen if the server is physically located far away from your home computer.

your sending and receiving the game data from the server too slowly...if your on a 56k modem..then you will probably get kicked from ever server you join. Try joining a server closer to where you live or get DSL or cable internet.
